Thanks for viewing.

This is a tribute to the greatest and bestest photographer of all time - Ansel Adams.

Severin, sorry for jumping on the "photography by" bandwagon, I couldn't resist.

Update: fixed overdarkened dark areas

Daily DeviationTribute by =brandonwitzel You know its worth a good hike up a mountain when your faced with this! The sense of drama is superb, I think the black and white tones really work and give photo a magic about it! Great use of perspective, crop and tones make this something you'd want to be framed on your wall! A blindingly impressive photo! (Featured by `garrit)

I think this is quite beautiful - it's possibly my monitor sucking, but I think the blacks are a tad too heavy.

Absolutely stunning. I love how the clouds envelop the mountains and the little opening is like catching a glimpse of some secret place. I think even Ansel Adams could look at the perfect tones and composition and be in awe himself.

I knew it! :D

Whenever I'm commenting on work I'll narrow my inbox down to the pieces that look the most interesting - the ones that I'll enjoy the most, the ones that are creative and original in one way or another. Then I'll usually save what I think is the best for last. Today, the best was this piece - and I chose correctly. I was rewarded with an amazing photograph when I clicked on the small image to full view.

When I saw the title (before reading the description) I knew right away that this was an Adams inspired piece - it has Adams written all over it, and that is a good thing :)

Gorgeous photo (to say the least). I use that word a lot (gorgeous) when commenting on work around here, but in this case there is an emphasis on it. Gorgeous. There - that's better :)

Adams was always a master of light and shadow, certain parts of the photograph are deep toned - obscured in shadow, while others are bathed in light - revealing to the viewer an incredible amount of detail and beauty. You've done that here. I love how the clouds move throughout the frame - covering and revealing on their way. You are lucky to see something like this in person, and talented to capture it in such a way. Ansel would be proud.

Absolutely beautiful! Ansel Adams would have been proud=) i just love the carity and almost dream like feeling that the photo gives the viewer. The black and white quality of this shot is astounding, you have a really winner with this picture, you should seriously think about making this a print! I love the way the clouds frame the mountian and make it look like its floating away. The tonings on the peaks are top notch thats for sure and really bring out both the snow and the other surroundings! Instant favorite, wonderful shot and please continue,.... espeically with this series if its possible. FAV FAV FAV FAV !!!!!!!
